| | My class is on the corner of the complex, I have a bank of windows that access the street. There is a bank of openable windows that have NO security screens. There is too much access to these windows, which someone could easily brek into my room.
I also house 30 computers in a room that has no A/C and due to the window street access that was mentioned before and the height of the windows, the room gets very HOT during the school day. |
| |
|
| | Expand The Audio Room/Breakout room to provide more space for students. Need to remove island table to provide for more desk and computer/technology space. |
| |
|
| | 1. Lack of Air Conditioning. Room has no ventilation and Warehouse style gas heater.
2. Half of the computers are on standard 6' tables like those used in cafeteria. Computer desks, or permanet counter top along the walls would be nice. |
| |
|
| | More space - equipment storage and more room for students and test areas. |
| |
|
| | The room needs air conditioning and heating.
The room could use more electrical outlets to permit a different way of setting up the computers. Right now it is limited due to the location of the outlets. |
| |
|
| | Not all students can see the demonstrations. Projector needs to be ceiling mounted. Computers are aging and would be better put to use in academy classrooms. New computers would allow students to use more up to date software. Smart board needs a replacement part in order to function. Student desks are broken. Computers are housed in unstable brackets. Electrical cables are laying on the floor. We need a new server. |
| |
|
| | Air conditioning
overhead projection system |
| |
|
| | Too hot due to computers. Need Air Conditioning. Security of classroom is open. Easy access for anyone. Have loss equipment in the past. |
| |
|
| | Yes, my course is computer based and curently there is a 3:1 ratio of students to computers. |
| |
|
| | The classroom was built in early 1960's, so many improvements/modernizations are necessary to bring this room up to current standards:
1. Overhead lighting is inappropriate--need dimmers and indirect lighting.
2. Windows face the monitors; the overhead screen and visual equipment needs to be reoriented so that this glare is minimized/eliminated.
3. Student chairs/desks are not ergonomically designed at all. One size must fit all, which is inappropriate in today's world.
4. The classroom has no provision for air conditioning. Morse HS is located in eastern San Diego county, an area known for very hot temperatures from May through October. Having taught in this classroom for the past twelve years, I have seen the effect of high temperatures on student academic performance, with deleterious effects. The installation of air conditioning would, in my opinion, drastically increase the academic performance of ROP students. |
| |
|
| | 25 computers generate a great deal of heat and there is no air conditioning.
25 computers all with power cables on the floor in areas where students walk. |

- Computer labs (SDH-CIMA 940/941) need rewiring to comply with safety regulations. Currently, we use extension cords to connect our computers.
- We request new, updated computers for both computer labs that can sustain multimedia software.
|
| |
|
| | Air conditioning - the room is extremely warm
Electrical - there are currently not enough circuits to handle the equipment load
Security - getting into the room through the windows and doors would be very easy |
| |
|
| | classroom gets really hot. no fans or air circulation system in place. blinds over windows are broken and falling down. |
| |
|
| | Computer furniture is falling apart, legs are broken and need welding, keyboard drawers are broken off. Need a pull down screen and mounted projector at the end of room for students to view. |
| |
|
| | My desks have flimsy keyboard drawers that have been slowly breaking of over the last few years. I have only 10 left out of 33! |
| |
|
| | •I'd like a projector mounted on the ceiling with speakers connected to the tv so we could see the tv on the big screen.
•Bookshelves on my back wall - I've seen some at Ikea but I guess a woodshop could make some too.
•I'd like the counter (I have a small one) to extend all the way to the back wall.
• I'd like display boards on my west wall with the ledge for putting markers and erasers.
(I have some on my back wall, but would more space to display student work)
I'd like flat screens for my classroom too...I have monitors but flat screens would be nice.
thank you very much!

| | Update computers. I teach digital photography. Computer are 4 years old. Industry standard is to upgrade computers every 3 years |
| |
|
| |
- Cabinets exist around their exterior of the room. Currenly 10 computers sit on top the cabinets. It would be nice to remove these cabinets and put computer tables or counters so that we could have a complete lab set up.
- Color printer - rm. 405
- Demonstration computer - rm. 405
- LCD projector - rm. 405 (ceiling mount)
- LCD projector - rm. 307 (ceiling mount)

|
| | Currently I don't have my own room because we haven't had the computers to teach the POE class. Next year I will have my own room but I need 20 computers minimum. |
| |
|
| | Fixed computer tables in a carousel configuration doesn not allow for students to work in groups. No easy way to gather the class for lectures and to use the overhead projector. Safety concerns are insufficient power requiring the running of power cables across the floor. |
| |
|
| | It would be a dream come true to have a printer. My Advisory Committe has approved the purchase two years in a row but I would need to spend all my instructional supply money to purchase it . My students design and draw architectural plans of Garden Sheds and Playhouses. The students then build these projects to plan. |
| |
|
| | Currently there is fewer than one computer for every two studeents. There is also a serious shortage of video cameras in a class where video is the main subject. The students currently use standard desks, but computer desks would be much more functional and efficient. |
| |
|
| | It's a garage... lots of street dust. Needs carpet area for computers and lockable doors from other classrooms. The computers are REALLY slow for the latest versions of 3D software updates that have come out in the past couple years - we could certainly use more RAM. The media presentation setup could be improved to allow for professional presentations and project demonstrations that don't lose the student's attention while waiting for the teacher workstation computer to catch up. I often have to send them to work without so much as an example when the computer crashes or the video card just can't handle the complex shape being built in Inventor. As an added bonus, a small video camera that is attached to the project would do wonders for demonstration that does not allow for 25 students to crowd around my desk to see how to use particular drafting tools and sketching techniques. |
| |
|
| | Need lockable storage. Ceiling mounts for data projector would be helpful. Furniture could be more uniform and ergonomic. |
| |
|
| | Class in room 1002 is actuallly a garage! No floor no carpet is installed. Computers are old and slow for current tech. |
| |
|
| | My room is a classroom, computer lab and fabrication workshop. During Prop MM they carpeted the entire room! Metal shavings, wood chips, lubrication oil, etc does not mix well with carpet. I am requesting that the carpet in the fabrication area of the class be replaced with a proper floor. |
| |
|
| | 10 computers stations are on high counters that require stools. The counters need lowered or the stools need to be upgraded to provide back support. |
| |
|
| | 1. My room was carpeted (I am guessing during propMM beautification). Being a Culinary Arts and Foods class, water, food, etc..on carpet helps harbor bacteria, mold and fungus growth. Would like it replaced with a washable/bleachable/ more suitable surface.
2. There are four older computers in my classroom. They are currently on small tables, but are in need of actual computer desks, maybe even lockable units of some sort.
3. My whiteboards in both rooms have never been replaced. They are unusable because the pen marks won't even erase anymore. So for the past two years I am using them as extra wall space for posters and such. I would make use out of the whiteboards in both rooms.

| |
|
| | I would like a full size refrigerator for lab supplies. I have a dorm fridge, but it is not large enough to keep all the chemicals/reagents that I need to teach my class.
I would like to see more computer technology. I have a wireless router, but only 10 computers that are about 4 years old and very unreliable. |
| |
|
| | Issues:
Up to date tools, Supplies, Need more Technology(Computers, Projectors) chairs.
Safety concerns:
Up to date guards on the tools, more safety glass's, Better first aid kits, first-aid and CPR trainning. |
| |
|
| | 404- If I end up not moving, then room 404 needs a multimedia projector and laptop. |
| |
|
